At this year’s IntraLogisteX, the Big Digit team spent two days speaking with logistics leaders, warehouse operators and fast-growing brands navigating increasingly complex fulfilment environments.
Across dozens of conversations – from 3PLs onboarding new clients to retailers managing multi-channel demand – a few consistent themes kept coming up.
Here are five things we heard again and again.

1. Complexity is growing faster than teams
Many operations aren’t struggling because of volume – they’re struggling because of variation.
- More channels
- More clients
- More fulfilment models.
Teams are being asked to do more without significantly increasing headcount, which means systems – not people – need to carry more of the operational load.
2. Visibility is still the biggest daily frustration
Real-time visibility sounds simple, but in practice it remains one of the hardest things to achieve.
We spoke to teams juggling multiple systems just to answer basic questions like:
- Where is the stock right now?
- What orders are at risk?
- What changed in the last hour?
When information lives in silos, decisions slow down – and small issues escalate quickly.

3. Onboarding new clients is still too manual
For many 3PLs and 4PLs, growth is being limited not by demand, but by onboarding capacity.
New client setup often involves:
- Manual data mapping
- Process workarounds
- Repeated configuration steps.
The result is slower go-lives, higher risk of error, and teams stretched thin during critical transition periods.
Automation here isn’t just about efficiency – it’s about enabling growth.
4. Automation is moving from interest to expectation
One of the clearest trends we saw at IntraLogisteX was the growing appetite for automation and robotics.
Fulfilment providers aren’t just experimenting anymore – they’re planning deployments.
The focus is shifting from “Should we automate?” to “How do we connect automation into our operation without disruption?”
We’re continuing to work closely with partners in this area to make those integrations simpler and more scalable – so watch this space.
5. Predictability is becoming the real competitive advantage
The most forward-thinking operators aren’t chasing perfection. They’re building predictability.
They want to know:
- What will happen tomorrow
- Where risks are building
- How performance is trending.
Because when operations are predictable, growth becomes manageable – and service levels stay consistent even as complexity increases.
What this means for the industry
IntraLogisteX reinforced something we see every day working with logistics providers and brands:
The challenge isn’t just scale. It’s control.
As fulfilment environments become more complex, the operations that succeed will be the ones that replace manual coordination with system-led workflows, clear visibility, and technology that works together seamlessly.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by the stand. We had some great conversations, heard some real operational challenges, and left with plenty of ideas for what comes next.
The industry is moving fast, and we’re excited to be building what comes next alongside our customers and partners.
